It's been a while since I've been to the Minnesota Art Institute. And with the weather hovering at 4 billion below zero, we took advantage of going inside. One of the most fascinating paintings was the work of Picasso (pictured above). Listed next to his picture was an explanation for his inspiration for this odd design. Picasso had just went through a disturbing break up in his marriage at the time of this painting. For those closest to Picasso, they shared how extremely distraught he was over the loss of his wife.
As I studied this painting I couldn't help but reflect on the fact that many marriages, if put on a canvas, might look a lot like Picasso's painting. There is nothing in this painting that suggests harmony. Instead, his work is filled with chaos.
