I noticed today, as I was removing my personal pizza from our stove, that there was a tribe of little food particles gathered together at the bottom of our oven. These little particles of food appeared as if they were having a little bonfire of their own. Smoke was rising up. Instead, of taking the time to scrub them out, I noticed that on our stove there is this little button that reads, "SELF CLEAN." By pushing the self clean button, and by latching the oven door shut, it sets in motion this extreme heat that dissolves all of the impurities - leaving the oven spotless. Wow. That will preach!How are your impurities doing? Are there there impurities in your life that have yet to be removed or eliminated. Certainly, it is impossible for us, humanly speaking, to do any self cleaning. Our best attempt would fall way short. But the good news of Jesus is that he is MORE THAN able to purge us from our sin or impurities and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
I want to encourage you to allow God to move that latch in your life right now - into the position of "cleaning," and to have HIM begin that process. The heat may feel uncomfortable at first, but the results will be transformational.
