Police car in my driveway last night. I thought I heard the theme song for cops playing.

I quickly met the policeman in our driveway before he reached my front step. I hurried to him, not because I had something to hide in my home, preventing him from seeing the stolen goods, but I truly wanted to be polite and to save him a long walk. I must admit, my heart started to race as he opened his car door and stepped out into the sub-degree weather. Like an old western movie, his breath trailed his shadow in the moon beams as he approached my shadow to meet me. His eyes honed in on me as he said, "Do you own this home." I said, "Yes." He said, "City ordinance states that you must not only shovel out your driveway following a blizzard, but you must also clear the snow from you sidewalk ... that currently has five foot drifts." Busted! I thought I could wait it out until July. Who would notice?

It may be sometime before I recover from this snow fall. Now, each time I hear the weatherman suggest that there could be a chance of snow, I will also add, "And a chance of cops!"
