A special thanks to @MarkBatterson at National Community Church for the opportunity to review his latest book, PRIMAL.

Yesterday I was one of many who received a freeeeee copy of Mark Batterson's new book, Primal. After twenty-five minutes of trying to rip through the secure packing (Fed-Ex) to unveil the book, only later to discover a convenient tear tab on the side of the package (I'm such a dork), I pulled out the hard cover copy and started reading. The premise behind Mark's book is for the Christ follower to reclaim or rediscover the lost soul of Christianity.

For a number of years I've been a great admirer of Mark's ministry at National Community Church. But even more impressive to me is the author, himself, - and his authenticity as a Christ follower. Of course, I might be a bit bias towards Mark since he was born and raised in Minnesota. But if you've ever had the chance to meet Mark in person, than you know that he is the type of person who says, "There you are," rather than, "Here I am." His previous writings, including Primal, never wander from this truth. Mark writes with deep humility and places his own life at the core of his work. His life personifies the challenges that we all face in our quest for the lost soul of Christianity.

Okay - I'm only on page 47 right now of Primal, and my goal is to finish it by today.

A review will follow.

The book will be made available to the public around the 10th of December. It's a must read.
