If you're like me, I typically want instant results. I want quick results in my prayer life, my work life, my marriage, my parenting, and in my physical workouts. No doubt - I'm not alone. As we have seen by the rise of steroids use from many famous athletes of our day, shortcuts to success can be very attractive.
But that doesn't work with God. Instead, God desires to develop our character and to mold us to be like Him. In doing so, it takes a lifetime of years to happen.
“Therefore since we also are surrounded with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily besets us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us” (NKJV).
